Saudi Arabia’s vegan cosmetics market set for 8.45% annual growth
The Saudi Arabian vegan cosmetics market is projected to grow from USD 165.28 billion in 2024 to USD 267.98 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of 8.45%, according to new market analysis.
Market expansion is being “propelled by the rising popularity of ethical consumerism, increased awareness of chemical-free skincare, alignment with halal principles, and broader e-commerce accessibility.”
Consumer awareness
Rising consumer awareness of cruelty-free and chemical-free products is a key growth driver. The report notes that “Millennials and Gen Z, in particular, are leading the shift toward conscious consumerism,” with 68% of consumers prioritising clean-label skincare and 41% influenced by social media content.
The increase in women’s workforce participation, now 36.2% of the labour force, is also contributing to higher cosmetics consumption.
Government initiatives supporting sustainability and the expansion of online retail are further supporting the market’s development.
Digital platforms
“The influence of global campaigns and digital platforms has accelerated this ethical awareness,” the report states. Social media engagement and influencer activity have amplified product visibility, particularly among younger consumers, encouraging traditional brands to “diversify into vegan segments to maintain relevance and market share.”
Costs and production
The report identifies “the relatively high cost of vegan products” as a key market challenge. The use of premium natural ingredients, sustainable packaging and cruelty-free certification contribute to elevated prices.
Limited domestic production and reliance on imports are additional cost pressures. These factors have made vegan cosmetics “more accessible primarily to affluent or niche segments,” the analysis notes.
Youth and lifestyle trends
A significant trend shaping the market is the growing influence of young consumers, who are adopting global wellness and sustainability behaviours. According to the report, “Vegan cosmetics are becoming part of a broader lifestyle that includes plant-based diets, environmentally responsible habits, and wellness-conscious choices.”
This trend is encouraging brands to offer transparent formulations and position products around identity and mindful consumption.
Some of the key companies active in the Saudi vegan cosmetics market include MZN Bodycare, Asteri Beauty, Mama’s Alchemy, Treat, Gaudia Beauty, Powder Beauty, Unleashia, Inika Organic, The Body Shop and Bio Food Trading.
